Work experience
I studied Interactive Performance Design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU), where I learned a broad range of disciplines, from theatre and gaming to storytelling and design, as well as how to combine them. As a result, these studies equipped me with a diverse set of skills and tools that I draw on in my projects. This multidisciplinarity has become my trademark; I put on my art director hat just as easily as I handle the motion or game design of a project.

In the years after my studies, I worked on a variety of projects ranging from key-art design for film and series at ODMedia, to branding projects as a freelancer, and creating immersive experiences that blur the lines between theatre and gaming.

Currently, I work at FELT Creative Agency in Utrecht, where I do motion design, concepting, and branding for cultural, educational, and non-profit organizations. Next to my work at FELT, I continue to take on freelance projects and collaborations.

In depth
I think of design as a dialogue. Whether it’s an immersive experience or a piece of graphic design, I aim to create work starts a conversation or invites interaction. This search for interaction pushes me to experiment with new technologies, tools, and visual styles, which I love. Innovation and wondering “what’s next” excite me, because they can generate surprising and engaging results, and often raise questions worth reflecting on.

I also take time to reflect and think about the future of the creative sector. I believe it’s valuable to share ideas, concerns, and lessons learned amongst creatives. Over the years, I’ve given talks and presentations on graphic design, motion design, immersive theatre, and the use of new technologies.
